D.1. Professional Service Agreement Between Calexico Unified School District and Nathan Houston to Provide Restorative Justice Training at the August 20, 2019 District wide Professional Development Day.

Rationale:
For the August 20th district wide professional development event we would like to offer additional topics related to social emotional learning to better support the students at all grade levels. Nathan Houston will introduce CUSD staff to restorative justice, its purpose and impact within a social emotional context. Staff will learn how restorative justice practices can be used as an alternative positive behavior intervention to support students.

Rationale:
Constant Contact is a communication tool designed to more effectively engage our District and community stakeholders through newsletters, announcements, and up-to-date progress reports on District happenings, construction projects and emergency procedures. Constant Contact also provides opportunities for feedback from our community and District personnel along with metrics to analyze the effectiveness of our outreach.

D.3. Agreement between Calexico Unified School District & Medic First to Conduct CPR/First Aid/AED Training for Staff Members between July 01, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

Rationale:
Medic First has provided CPR/First Aid/AED training to CUSD staff members since 2015. We continue to have a need to train new employees on an annual basis and we also continue to have a need to recertify CPR/First Aid card holders every two years. Proposal is offered for a maximum of 250 employees on a voluntary basis throughout the year. Certification/Training from Medic First for Pediatric will include Adult and children CPR, AED and First Aid.

Training Cost: $12,500.00 ($50.00 per participant X 250 maximum participants) Funding Source: LEA Medi-Cal Funds

D.5. Revised Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) for School Year 2019-20.

Rationale:
Pursuant to Education Code 52060, on or before July 1, 2019 for the 2019-20 Fiscal Year, the Governing Board of each school district shall adopt a Local Control and Accountability Plan using a template adopted by the State Board. After the stakeholder engagement activities and consultations to gather input to develop the LCAP and goals, pursuant to Education Code 52060(b)(1), the governing board held a public hearing to solicit comments of members of the public regarding the specific actions and expenditures proposed to be included in the LCAP. The Calexico Unified School District Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) was approved during the June 20, 2019 regular board meeting.
 
Financial Impact:
Proposed expenditures are currently budgeted within the 2019-20 Budget.
